Job description

The Data Officer is a key member of the Data & Assessment team, supporting academic monitoring, assessment cycles, and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with senior leaders, teachers, pastoral teams, exam officers, and administrative staff to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and impactful., * Manage and maintain the school's MIS (Arbor, SIMS, Bromcom or similar)

  • Produce clear and insightful data reports for leaders and governors
  • Coordinate assessment and reporting cycles
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and assessment data
  • Track performance and attendance trends
  • Support exam analysis and results reporting
  • Complete statutory returns, including the School Census
  • Manage timetable and intervention data
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and secure data handling
  • Troubleshoot system issues and liaise with MIS providers
  • Train and support staff in using data systems and reports

The Data Department is central to school improvement, informing teaching strategies, interventions, parental communication, and performance evaluation. The team works in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where accuracy and confidentiality are essential.

Requirements

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Officer to join a well-established, Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Tunbridge Wells. This 11-18 school is known for strong academic progress, excellent behaviour, and a supportive pastoral culture built on kindness, inclusion, and high expectations., We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in data management (school experience desirable)
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Proficiency in MIS systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data visualisation)
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and GDPR
