Job description

The role will focus on building and maintaining SIEM environments, with a particular focus on the management of core environment setups and data onboarding into Cloud platforms. You will work closely with stakeholders to support both well-defined and more complex data ingestion routes, working collaboratively to engineer technical solutions. As part of this role, you will contribute to delivering a robust and reliable SIEM platform for our 24/7 EIT Cyber Security Operations to use to monitor and detect potential threats.

Core Duties:

  • Working as part of a collaborative and committed team, safeguarding BAE Systems enterprise IT Infrastructure
  • Installation, maintenance and configuration of Cyber Security Toolsets, including SIEM, SOAR, Cloud and other protection and monitoring technologies
  • Continuous commitment towards organisational, departmental and individual objectives and uphold security standards and principles
  • Collaborating within project teams to deliver large, complex projects across the enterprise networks, including technology onboarding
  • Deliver value through working relationships, collaborating with colleagues in Agile, Cross-Functional teams
  • Ensure availability, scalability and reliability of Cyber Toolset, maintaining production systems and delivering future roadmap technologies
  • Provide on call duties as required, Within EIT Cyber Security Engineering - Team SIEM, the primary focus is to provide and maintain the UK Cyber Security Operations Enhanced Protective Monitoring Capability platform (EPMC). The SIEM, both on-premise and cloud based, collates system logs to create a searchable dataset for analysis. This allows the EIT Cyber Security Operations Centre to monitor, search, analyse and visualise the data for potential threat alerts.

Requirements

  • Good technical background and experience with Cloud and On-Premise technologies
  • Demonstratable technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure components such as Sentinel
  • Considerable understanding of firewall & networking systems
  • Diligent with close attention to detail, ensuring tickets, emails and technical documentation adheres to team standards
  • Understanding of Git repositories and code management technologies such as Azure DevOps & Bitbucket

Benefits & conditions

Salary: Up to £56,000 depending on experience
