Job description

A forward-thinking and well-established secondary school in Exeter is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Manager to join their administrative and IT team. This is a full-time, permanent position starting ASAP, offering the opportunity to oversee the management, accuracy, and security of school data across all departments.

As Data Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing student, staff, and assessment data, ensuring its integrity and accessibility for leadership, teaching staff, and reporting purposes. You will oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of key data, supporting school improvement, tracking progress, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

This role requires strong analytical skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will also liaise with staff to provide data support for curriculum planning, performance monitoring, and reporting., * Maintaining and managing student and staff databases with accuracy

  • Collecting, analysing, and reporting data to senior leadership
  • Supporting the implementation of data systems and processes
  • Ensuring data security, confidentiality, and compliance with GDPR
  • Producing reports for statutory returns, inspections, and performance monitoring
  • Providing training and guidance to staff on data entry and usage
  • Supporting school improvement initiatives through effective data analysis

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a data management or similar administrative role, ideally in education
  • Strong IT skills, including management of databases, spreadsheets, and reporting software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Legal right to work in the UK
