Job description

A well-established secondary school in Devon is seeking a meticulous, organised, and proactive Data Officer to join their administrative team. This is a full-time, permanent role starting ASAP, providing essential support to ensure accurate, secure, and timely management of school data.

As a Data Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the collection, maintenance, and reporting of student and staff information across multiple systems. You will ensure data integrity, assist with statutory reporting, and provide analytical support to help inform school decision-making.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff across the school. You will be involved in daily data management, producing reports, and supporting the smooth operation of administrative processes., * Maintaining accurate and up-to-date student and staff records

  • Assisting with the analysis of student performance data
  • Producing reports for senior leadership, governors, and external agencies
  • Supporting compliance with GDPR and other data protection requirements
  • Providing training and guidance to staff on data systems
  • Assisting with admissions, attendance, and exam data management
  • Supporting departmental projects requiring data input and reporting

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a data or administrative role, ideally within education
  • Strong IT skills, including database management, spreadsheets, and reporting tools

  • Reliable, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Legal right to work in the UK
