Job description

We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Junior IT & Communications Support Technician to support our internal IT infrastructure and specialist broadcast communications systems. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in IT support, networking, and the live events or broadcast industry who is looking to develop their skills within a fast-paced and technically diverse environment.

The successful candidate will initially work closely with their line manager and senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience before taking ownership of the company's day-to-day IT support requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Provide responsive technical support and troubleshooting for computer hardware, software, and production network infrastructure, both in-house and for field-based operations when required.

System Deployment & Maintenance - Assist with the preparation, installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, workstations, and network peripherals to a high operational standard.

User Access & Security Management -Create and manage user accounts, remote access tools, and security credentials, ensuring staff have secure and reliable access to company resources including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and related platforms.

Software & Asset Deployment - Manage routine software installations, updates, and security patches while maintaining accurate records of company IT assets and equipment.

Network Monitoring & Reliability - Monitor and support network infrastructure, including LANs, DNS, firewalls, and VPN services, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity for office and remote users.

Team Collaboration - Work closely with senior engineers and operational teams to resolve technical issues efficiently and support warehouse, office, and project workflows.

Website & Digital Content Management - Assist with maintaining and updating the company website using WordPress, ensuring content remains current and professionally presented.

Broadcast Communications Training & Development - The successful candidate will receive training from senior engineers in the configuration, operation, and maintenance of industry-standard broadcast communications systems.

Areas of development include:

  • Riedel Artist and Bolero digital matrix intercom systems
  • VoIP communications networks
  • FreeSpeak wireless talkback and beltpack systems
  • Motorola professional radio systems
  • Glensound broadcast commentary systems and audio interfaces

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop specialist technical skills within the broadcast and live events industry.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within the Audio-Visual (AV) industry (1 year)
  • Strong interest in IT systems, networking, and technical problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Preferred

  • Full UK driving licence, * Audio Visual Industry: 1 year (preferred)
