Graduate Platform Engineer

Leonardo UK is seeking a Graduate Platform Engineering Technician to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division team. This role is focused on supporting the delivery, maintenance and continual improvement of platform and systems engineering solutions across defence, government and public sector customers.

• Assist with the deployment, configuration, and patching of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Support platform health checks, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain and update technical documentation and work instructions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver small technical projects and service improvements.
• Contribute to change control and configuration management processes.
• Provide technical support to field teams and end-users under guidance from more experienced colleagues., This role can be based at one of our UK sites, Bristol, with hybrid/custom working options where appropriate.

• All of our roles require (a) a minimum of a 2:2 Bachelors/Integrated Master's degree, or (b) a higher degree, such as a MSc or PhD in a STEM related subject including Cyber Security.

• A foundation in IT systems - such as Windows operating systems and basic networking.

• An enthusiasm for learning and applying new technologies.

• A methodical approach to problem-solving with attention to process and detail.

• Ability to work as part of a team and follow established engineering procedures.

• Windows/Linux operating systems

• Understanding of cyber security concepts

• Awareness of ITIL or service management practices

• Hands-on experience with patching tools, antivirus, or endpoint security

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

• Knowledge of scripting or automation basics (PowerShell, Bash, Python)

• ITIL Foundation certification
