UX Designer

Rate: £450/day IR35: Inside IR35 Location: Predominantly remote, with London travel 1-2 times per month Contract: Until 30 September, with potential extension Start: ASAP, ideally within one week

We're looking for a visually strong Creative UX Designer to support the redesign of a live government digital service.

This is not a standard GDS UX role. The focus is on combining high-quality visual and UI design with stakeholder facilitation, rapid concept development and confident presentation. What you'll be doing

• Producing high-fidelity UI concepts and prototypes in Figma
• Building on existing user journeys and service design foundations
• Planning and facilitating client-facing design workshops
• Translating workshop outputs into clear design directions
• Presenting concepts to senior stakeholders and managing live feedback
• Delivering defined design outputs against a fixed September deadline

Essential experience

• Recent UK Government and GDS delivery experience
• Strong high-fidelity UX/UI and visual design capability
• Excellent Figma and rapid prototyping skills
• Experience designing complex tools or applications for business users
• Proven workshop facilitation with non-design stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder presentation and communication skills
• Experience working within established UX and service design frameworks
• A portfolio demonstrating strong visual craft and personal ownership
