Job description
You'll design, develop and deliver scalable backend applications using Java, working as part of an Agile engineering team. Alongside hands-on development, you'll support and mentor colleagues, contribute to technical discussions and help deliver high-quality software across the full development lifecycle.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and maintain enterprise Java applications.
- Design and build scalable backend services and microservices.
- Work closely with developers, architects and testers throughout project delivery.
- Follow Agile development practices and contribute to sprint planning and technical discussions.
- Promote best practices including clean code, CI/CD and modern development workflows.
- Support and mentor junior developers while contributing to the team's technical direction.
Requirements
- 5+ years' commercial experience developing Java applications.
- Strong backend Java development experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
- Proven experience delivering complex software projects.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices.
- Exposure to Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with technical teams and stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers is highly desirable.
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure or GCP)
