Job description

RHEL Linux Engineer - Financial Services - Canary Wharf (3 days onsite) - 12 month contract

I have an immediate opportunity for an experienced RHEL Linux Engineer to join a busy team for our client in Canary Wharf. You will help strengthen the engineering ownership of their Linux environment, increase automation, and ensure the platform keeps pace with business demand.

As such, I am keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Excellent Linux skills and experience, including understanding of UNIX system calls and low-level operating system and network behaviour.
  • Hands-on experience using a modern configuration management tool (for example SaltStack, Puppet, or Chef) to administer large Linux estates.
  • Ability to write clean, reliable Python code for automation and tooling.
  • Strong diagnostic skills spanning hardware, operating system, networking, and storage.
  • Experience with Linux patching, including automated testing and rollout of updates.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams in a large enterprise environment would be preferred.
  • Interest in modern engineering practices and tools such as Git, Jenkins, automated testing, and continuous integration, with any exposure to virtualisation, private cloud, containers, or additional languages like Perl, C, or C++ a plus.

Apply now for immediate consideration!
