Job description
· Support Senior Engineers in producing technical documentation including interface documents, requirements documents, design documents, SoW, verification and validation documents.
· Build, Configure and Test systems.
· Maintain knowledge of existing products and systems to a high level able to provide instructions and guidance to Service Engineers to set to work, commission, diagnose, maintain and repair systems.
· Where necessary perform installation, setting to work, commissioning
· Work in close cooperation with Senior System Engineers
· Learn from Senior Engineers how to work within the scope of the contract and in accordance with Contractor policies, standard processes and procedures.
· Where necessary carry out systems fault diagnosis and trials at customer site or on Naval platforms in the UK or abroad.
· Provide telephone and e-mail technical support to customers and service partners.
· Carry out operator and maintenance training when required.
Requirements
We are seeking a Graduate System Engineer to join our small UK Engineering Team. As a Graduate System Engineer, you will be working in the technical design of complex navigation and bridge systems for Naval Combatants & Maritime Surveillance Systems projects. The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and be an effective problem solver able to work under their own initiative as a prominent member of the team., · Experience in building, configuring and fault diagnosis of PC based systems and networking.
· Configuration & Test of network infrastructure including switching, routing, encryption, security, optimisation, VLAN's, Virtual Machines.
· Knowledge of marine electronics systems including radar systems, Electronic chart systems, Navigation aids and steering control systems.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
· Passion for learning and staying up to date with new technologies.
Personal
· Must be eligible and able to get Security Check Clearance from the UK National Security Vetting Agency.
Education
· Degree or equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related technical field
