Job description

The role is primarily focused on software development, with occasional involvement in supporting complex technical issues that have been escalated beyond our Helpdesk. There is also the opportunity to broaden your skills by working with other development teams using different technologies.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Development and enhancement of existing ASP.NET WebForms applications.
  • Build, maintain and integrate APIs.
  • Develop and optimise Microsoft SQL Server databases and queries.
  • Deliver and support cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure.
  • Create software test plans to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across development, support and project teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.

Requirements

We're looking for an experienced ASP.NET WebForms Developer to lead the ongoing enhancement, maintenance and development of our established web applications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working independently, and contributing to a collaborative development team., We're looking for someone with at least 4 years' commercial software development experience and strong knowledge of:

  • VB.NET
  • ASP.NET WebForms
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Azure (cloud solutions)
  • REST API development and integration
  • Software testing and test planning

Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous, but is not essential:

  • AI technologies
  • Angular
  • Business Objects
  • Crystal Reports
  • DevOps
  • Jira
  • Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials +
  • ISO 27001
