Job description
We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development and implementation of advanced data science and AI strategies that support BSI's digital transformation. This role blends technical expertise, innovation, and leadership - mentoring others while driving data-led decision-making across the business., * Lead data analysis projects and solve complex data challenges.
- Design, build, and deliver scalable AI and machine learning solutions.
- Contribute to the DSAI strategic roadmap aligned with BSI's goals.
- Ensure quality, transparency, and compliance with AI standards (ISO 42001).
- Maintain and evolve tools and technologies across structured and unstructured data.
- Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver insights.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists.
- Represent BSI's data science team at internal and external events.
- Promote a culture of data-driven innovation across the organisation.
Requirements
- 3+ years' experience in a data science role solving real-world business problems.
- Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL (experience with Databricks a plus).
- Strong understanding of machine learning, LLMs, and data analysis pipelines.
- Experience working with GenAI.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive, flexible mindset with a passion for uncovering value through data.
Benefits & conditions
UK = £58,500 - £78,000
The advertised salary range reflects the level, scope and responsibilities of the role. Starting salary within that range will be determined based on experience, skills, market considerations and alignment with internal equity principles.
