The Import & Storage Operative is responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day management of import operations, ensuring shipments are processed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements. Reporting to the Import Supervisor, this role plays a key part in maintaining smooth operational workflows across imports, storage management, and dispatch activities. The successful candidate will be proactive, organised, solutions-focused, and committed to delivering high standards of service.

#empoweredbyyou What You Bring, * Support daily import operations, ensuring the timely and compliant clearance, processing, and movement of goods.

  • Accurately prepare, review, and maintain import documentation, identifying and escalating discrepancies where necessary.

  • Liaise with internal departments, suppliers and transport providers to support smooth operational processes.

  • Proactively identify operational issues, delays, or inefficiencies and report them to the Import supervisor while assisting in implementing solutions.

  • Manage storage activities, ensuring goods are correctly received, recorded, stored, and organised to maintain stock accuracy and warehouse efficiency.

  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control processes to ensure accurate storage records are maintained.

  • Coordinate despatch activities, ensuring orders and shipments are prepared accurately, labelled correctly, and dispatched on time.

  • Ensure all import, storage, and despatch activities are completed in compliance with customs regulations, company procedures, and health and safety requirements.

  • Maintain accurate operational records and support reporting requirements as requested by the Import Supervisor.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, supportive, and efficient working environment.

  • Contribute ideas to improve processes, productivity, and workflow efficiency.
