Job description

This Outstanding 11-18 secondary school in Reading is recognised for its high academic performance, structured leadership systems, and evidence-led approach to school improvement. The school serves a diverse and ambitious community, maintaining strong outcomes across GCSE and A Level.

The leadership team relies heavily on accurate performance data to inform strategic planning, intervention, and curriculum development. Assessment cycles are clearly structured, and staff are well trained in data use.

To strengthen its operational leadership, the school is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Data Manager.

The Data Manager will oversee all aspects of assessment data, reporting, and MIS systems across the school., * Managing and maintaining the school's MIS system (SIMS, Arbor or similar)

  • Coordinating whole-school assessment data collections
  • Producing progress and attainment reports for SLT and governors
  • Analysing GCSE and A Level exam performance
  • Supporting Heads of Department with data interpretation
  • Managing statutory returns (school census, performance tables)
  • Overseeing intervention tracking systems
  • Ensuring data accuracy and compliance
  • Training staff on reporting systems
  • Supporting timetabling and option processes

Requirements

This role requires precision, analytical thinking, and strong organisational skills.

The Data Manager works closely with the Deputy Headteacher (Academic), Exams Officer, and senior leadership team.
