Job description

A well-organised and forward-thinking secondary school in the Reading area is seeking a detail-oriented Admissions & Data Officer to join its experienced support team. This is a key role at the heart of the school's operations, supporting senior leaders by ensuring admissions processes and pupil data are accurate, compliant and well managed., Working closely with the leadership team, pastoral staff and local authority contacts, you will oversee the school's admissions processes and maintain accurate student data throughout the academic year. This includes managing applications, coordinating transitions, updating records and producing reports that support decision-making and statutory returns.

You'll also play an important role in maintaining the school's management information system, ensuring data integrity and supporting colleagues with data-related queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the admissions process, including applications, offers and transitions
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records on the school's MIS
  • Supporting census returns and statutory data submissions
  • Producing reports for senior leaders and pastoral teams
  • Liaising with feeder schools, families and local authorities
  • Supporting data compliance and audit requirements

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in admissions, data or school administration
  • Be confident using school MIS systems and Excel
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Communicate clearly with staff, families and external partners
  • Be able to manage deadlines and priorities effectively
