  • Provide technical leadership across data engineering, analytics and AI transformation programmes
  • Design scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks and integration patterns
  • Shape architecture decisions across technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory
  • Define data modelling strategies, including dimensional modelling, enterprise data models and lakehouse patterns
  • Establish architectural standards around data governance, security, metadata, lineage and data quality
  • Act as a design authority, reviewing and assuring technical solutions across delivery teams
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure architectures are practical, scalable and production-ready
  • Partner with senior client stakeholders to develop data strategies, roadmaps and transformation plans
  • Support solution design, pre-sales activities and client workshops where required

Requirements

  • Azure Data Factory

  • Azure Synapse Analytics

  • Azure Data Lake Storage

Strong understanding of modern data engineering concepts including:

  • Data pipelines
  • ETL/ELT frameworks
  • Data ingestion patterns
  • Data processing architectures
  • Lakehouse approaches

Experience designing enterprise data models and warehousing solutions

Strong understanding of cloud data architecture patterns and best practice

Experience defining data governance, security, lineage and quality frameworks

Ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable technical architectures

Strong consulting experience with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

Desirable Experience

  • Experience leading Microsoft Fabric implementation or migration programmes
  • Strong knowledge of Databricks Lakehouse architecture and engineering practices
  • Experience designing platforms supporting AI, machine learning and advanced analytics workloads
  • Exposure to DataOps, DevOps, CI/CD and automated deployment practices
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments such as defence, government, financial services or healthcare
  • Experience presenting architecture decisions through governance boards and technical assurance forums
  • Knowledge of Power BI semantic models and enterprise BI architecture

Benefits & conditions

  • Work with modern technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and Azure Data Platforms
  • Influence how major UK organisations build and use data at scale
  • Join a technically driven consultancy working on complex transformation challenges
  • Remote-first working model with occasional London travel
  • Competitive salary package with bonus and benefits
  • Clear progression pathway towards Principal Data Architect, Enterprise Architect or Data Practice Leadership roles
