Job description

We are seeking a Senior Private Cloud Deployment Engineer to support the deployment and integration of enterprise private cloud environments within secure Department of Defense (DoD) data centers. This is a highly technical, hands-on engineering role focused on building and deploying VMware-based infrastructure, Linux operating systems, and Kubernetes platforms at scale. The ideal candidate has extensive experience building cloud environments from the ground up and can independently deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and integrate complex virtualization and infrastructure solutions in classified environments. This is not a project management or oversight role. We are looking for an engineer who has personally performed the technical work and thrives in fast-paced deployment environments.

What You'll Do Deploy and integrate private cloud infrastructure in classified data centers. Build, configure, and manage large-scale VMware environments. Install and deploy Linux/RHEL operating systems from scratch. Support Kubernetes platform deployment and operations. Configure and integrate compute, storage, networking, and security components. Develop and maintain operating system images and patching processes. Implement STIG requirements and security hardening standards. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, virtualization, and system issues. Support infrastructure expansion, migration, and modernization efforts. Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure and scalable cloud solutions., This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical cloud modernization initiatives supporting government and defense customers. You'll play a key role in deploying next-generation private cloud infrastructure while leveraging advanced VMware, Linux, Kubernetes, and virtualization technologies in highly secure environments.

Requirements

Active Secret Clearance or higher (required). Expert-level VMware experience, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter. Expert-level Linux administration experience, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Experience building and deploying cloud infrastructure from scratch. Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes environments. Strong understanding of enterprise networking and storage concepts. Experience supporting secure or classified environments. Ability to travel up to 70% nationwide., Top Secret Clearance. Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms. VMware and/or Red Hat certifications. Experience with large-scale virtual machine deployments (hundreds to thousands of VMs). Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools.
