Job description

Salesforce MuleSoft is looking for a passionate and innovative Lead Software Engineer (LMTS) to join our platform engineering team. You will work with world-class engineers to build the breakthrough integrations, APIs, and platform capabilities our customers love, adopt, and use - while keeping our trusted integration platform stable, scalable, and secure. The role encompasses architecture, design, implementation, and testing across the full SDLC.

Your Impact As an Engineering Leader on the MuleSoft Platform team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Shape your team's system architecture and technical strategy for integration and API platform capabilities
  • Design, build, and deliver high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of your development workflow
  • Architect and orchestrate complex, scalable microservices and integration systems where APIs and data flows connect Salesforce products and customer ecosystems
  • Make architectural and design decisions with a strong focus on performance, scalability, security, and future extensibility
  • Contribute to all phases of the SDLC - design, implementation, code reviews, automation, and testing - in a hybrid engineering model
  • Build efficient components and algorithms within a microservices-based, multi-tenant SaaS cloud environment
  • Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance to drive high standards across the team
  • Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit/functional tests to drive code coverage and automation metricsParticipate in the team's on-call rotation to address complex problems in real-time and keep services highly available

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development experience with large-scale distributed systems
  • Mastery of one or more: Java, Python, Scala, Go, Node.js (Java strongly preferred for MuleSoft platform work)
  • Deep understanding of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform - Anypoint Studio, DataWeave 2.0, API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange, MQ
  • Strong experience with REST/SOAP/GraphQL API design and microservices architecture
  • Experience designing and developing distributed systems at scale on public cloud - AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Strong SQL and NoSQL database skills (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redshift, etc.)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines , version control (Git), and DevOps practices
  • Deep understanding of security standards: OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, SAML
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes/Docker and cloud-native infrastructure
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to mentor teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • MuleSoft Certifications: Certified Developer L1/L2, Integration Architect, Platform Architect
  • Experience with Kafka, Airflow, or event-driven architectures
  • Familiarity with Agentforce / AI-integrated workflows
  • Experience with MUnit testing, Splunk monitoring, and incident managementPrior experience in the MuleSoft T&P Planning Org or integration platform engineering

Education B.Tech / B.E. / M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

The typical base salary range for this position is $172,500 - $260,100 annually.

The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
