Job description
Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a Web Design Developer (contract). In this role, you will lead the strategy, development, and ongoing enhancement of internally developed digital platforms and web-based applications. This role combines product ownership, user experience design, and hands-on web development to deliver scalable, user-focused solutions that support business objectives. This role is onsite in Austin, Tx., * Lead products and web applications from concept through implementation, enhancement, and ongoing support.
- Define product roadmaps, gather business requirements, and prioritize features based on organizational goals and user needs.
- Partner with stakeholders, technical teams, and business leaders to align project objectives and deliverables.
- Advocate for user-centered design and ensure applications meet usability and accessibility standards.
- Develop and maintain web-based applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and related technologies.
- Design responsive, user-friendly interfaces that provide a consistent experience across desktop and mobile devices.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to communicate design concepts and functionality.
- Utilize automation and data analysis tools to improve workflows, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
- Integrate and support APIs and connected systems to enhance platform functionality.
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Support ongoing enhancements, troubleshooting, testing, and deployment activities.
- Participate in additional technology and digital transformation initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Experience managing product development, web applications, or digital platform initiatives.
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and modern web development principles.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX design, responsive design, and accessibility best practices.
- Experience creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with REST APIs and API testing tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with digital product management and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Experience with automation, workflow optimization, and data-driven decision making.
- Familiarity with cloud-based applications and enterprise web platforms.
