Director of Technology

Northville Public S chools i s seeking an innovative, collaborative, a nd strategic leader to s erve as its Director of Technology . Reporting t o the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services a nd serving as a key member of the district leadership team, the Director o f Technology is responsible for developing, i mplementing, and maintaining a comprehensive technology program that supports the district's educational mission and operational goals.

The Director of Technology provides leadership for all aspects of district technology, including technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, user support services, i nstructional technology i ntegration, data systems, and large-scale technology initiatives. T he p osition oversees technology-related bond projects, capital improvements, and strategic technology planning to ensure equitable, reliable, and future-focused technology resources f or students and staff., S trategic Leadership Develop and implement a district-wide technology vision aligned with the Board of E ducation's goals and the district's strategic plan.

• Lead long-range technology planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• M onitor e merging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that enhance teaching, learning, and

operational effectiveness.

• Serve as the district's primary technology advisor to district leadership and the Board of Education.

T echnology Infrastructure & Operations Direct the p lanning, implementation, m aintenance, and security of all district technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, wireless systems, telecommunications, cloud services, and data systems.

• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of technology systems across all district facilities.

• Oversee device lifecycle management for student, staff, and administrative technology resources.

• Lead cybersecurity initiatives, risk management e fforts, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity

p rocedures. U ser Support Services M anage district technology support services for students, staff, administrators, and families.

• Establish service standards and performance expectations for technology support operations.
• E nsure timely resolution of technical issues and delivery of exceptional customer service.
• Supervise and evaluate technology personnel and contracted service providers.

Instructional Technology Collaborate with curriculum a nd instructional leaders t o support e ffective integration of technology into t eaching and learning.

• Lead implementation and support of instructional software, learning management systems, digital resources,

a nd educational technology initiatives.

• Coordinate professional learning opportunities that build staff capacity in the effective use of technology.
• Promote equitable access to technology tools and digital learning resources.

Project and Bond Management Provide l eadership for technology-related bond projects, capital improvements, a nd other large-scale technology initiatives.

• Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and implementation plans.
• C oordinate work with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Monitor project progress and e nsure compliance w ith d istrict p urchasing procedures and a pplicable

regulations.

• Manage technology-related grants and other funding opportunities when applicable.

Data Systems & Compliance Oversee the a dministration and integration of the student i nformation s ystem (MiStar), district information systems and databases.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, a nd local regulations related to data privacy,

cybersecurity, accessibility, and technology operations.

• Establish and maintain technology policies, procedures, and standards.

• Support data-informed decision-making through effective system management and reporting.

R equired B achelor's or Master's d egree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in technology management.
• Experience managing enterprise technology infrastructure, support services, and technology projects.
• Demonstrated success leading teams, developing budgets, and managing complex initiatives.
• Knowledge of c ybersecurity principles, network architecture, c loud technologies, and educational technology

s ystems.

• S trong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.

Preferred Master's degree in a related field.

• E xperience in a K-12 educational environment.
• Experience managing technology components of bond-funded or capital improvement projects.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CETL, PMP, CISSP, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent credentials.
• Experience with student information systems, instructional platforms, and educational data systems.
