Job description
To manage the Information Systems Department and Application Support services by providing process support to various departments to ensure effective use of technologies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Works with various departments to plan, develop, and implement operational efficiencies through the use of technology by providing solutions to credit union processes when feasible.
- Manages the evaluation, implementation, and support activity of internal and external automated information processing systems and services, including software, hardware, and related equipment.
- Determines and evaluates current and future technology, communications, and information needs.
- Analyzes and controls cost associated with technology, communications, and information systems.
- Develops short and long-range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the company and its members.
- Manages the development and application of internal standards and controls for PCs including software and hardware inventories, software library, installation records, procedures, and policies.
- Negotiates contracts for technology, communications, information systems, services, and equipment purchases.
- Reviews PC product purchase request for non-standard or "beyond standard" products; considers compatibility, serviceability, need, and price in forming a recommendation on behalf of I.T. to the appropriate manager.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ten years to fifteen years of similar or related experience.
- (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
- Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.

- Thorough knowledge of hardware systems, system software, networks, and application software development.
- Previous financial institution and Jack Henry application and platform experience preferred.
- Must have excellent resource management, project planning, strategic planning and communication skills.
- Must be able to work and travel independently.
