Job description
Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology, and equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability, and adherence to requirements and specifications. Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures. Generates test plans, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause, and documents results and recommendations. Proposes, develops, and validates revisions to procedures and specifications. Determines suitability of parts, materials, and processes for engineering applications. Coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers for parts and materials. Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating, and implementing new concepts and technology. Provides technical consultation to internal and external customers on materials and processes. Applies knowledge of materials and processes to support engineering and manufacturing. Uses computer systems for documentation, data analysis, and reporting.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR). Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor 1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.). Technical Associate degree or equivalent. Comfortable using a computer for documentation, data analysis, and reporting. Experience evaluating parts, materials, and processes through research and testing. Experience analyzing failures to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions. Experience generating test plans and documenting results and recommendations. Experience proposing and validating revisions to procedures and specifications. Experience coordinating with suppliers and customers on materials and process issues. Experience supporting continuous improvement through testing and evaluation of new concepts and technology. Experience providing technical consultation on materials and processes to internal and external customers., Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) to comply with ITAR regulations.
