Job description
We are hiring a Data Science Analyst to partner closely with the eBay Advertising Product team. In this role, you will transform large, complex datasets into actionable insights, scalable reporting, and self-service analytics tools that support faster, better decision-making across multiple stakeholders. You will lead business performance deep-dives, identify product growth opportunities, and influence strategy through rigorous, data-informed recommendations. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, collaborating cross-functionally, and driving measurable business outcomes.
What you will accomplish:
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to answer high-priority business questions, shape priorities, and deliver insights that inform advertising strategy and product decisions.
- Build, maintain, and improve scalable reporting and self-service analytics solutions that enable teams to make faster, more effective decisions.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that improve business performance and support Ads product growth.
- Apply structured, hypothesis-driven problem solving to ambiguous challenges, translating quantitative and qualitative findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Conduct performance deep-dives and experimentation analyses, including A/B testing, to evaluate initiatives and guide future investment decisions.
- Help evolve the team's analytics frameworks, measurement approaches, and data solutions to improve insight generation, decision quality, and innovation.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
- Strong technical skills in SQL and either Python or R, with experience working with large datasets and building efficient analytical solutions.
- Solid foundation in descriptive and inferential statistics, including hypothesis testing, experimentation, and basic modeling techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to break down complex, unstructured problems into clear analytical approaches and actionable business insights.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses in simple, compelling terms to a range of stakeholders.

- RSU, The applicable base pay range for this position is dependent on work location. The base pay range in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro and Seattle Metro is expected in the range below: $108,800 - $145,200
The base pay range for all other U.S. work locations is expected in the range below: $70,000 - $125,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
