Job description

Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to join a collaborative technology team supporting a large-scale enterprise digital transformation initiative. This individual will play a key role in designing and optimizing modern cloud-based data solutions that improve data accessibility, reliability, and informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate is passionate about building scalable data platforms, solving complex technical challenges, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions., * Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL data pipelines, integrations, and cloud-based data solutions using Snowflake and modern data engineering tools.

  • Build and optimize data models, transformation logic, and database structures that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and business operations.
  • Develop automated data quality processes, validation frameworks, and monitoring solutions to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable data engineering solutions.
  • Optimize platform performance through query tuning, workload management, and cost-efficient cloud architecture while supporting data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex data pipeline issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend long-term technical improvements.
  • Contribute to data engineering standards, documentation, and best practices while staying current on emerging cloud technologies and modern development methodologies.
  • Provide support during system implementations, upgrades, and other scheduled production activities, including occasional evening or weekend work as needed.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of professional experience in data engineering, data warehousing, database development, or cloud data platform administration.
  • Hands-on experience designing and supporting Snowflake data environments or comparable enterprise cloud data warehouse platforms.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL, Python, ELT/ETL development, data modeling, and integration technologies such as dbt, APIs, Workato, Airflow, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, along with version control tools like Git and Agile development practices.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, metadata management, role-based access controls, and enterprise data quality practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Experience supporting large, highly regulated organizations or complex enterprise environments is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
