Job description

We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility. Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity. This position does not offer relocation assistance., We are seeking a highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD practices. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting scalable container platforms and automation solutions across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based platforms, cloud infrastructure, GitOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern DevOps toolchains. You will work closely with development, architecture, and platform engineering teams to accelerate application modernization and improve operational reliability. Location: Richmond, VA and Cayce, SC Working Model: Hybrid, alternate week in-person required, * Design, deploy, and support containerized workloads on Kubernetes platforms, including OpenShift, ARO, ROSA and managed cloud Kubernetes services.

  • Implement GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as ArgoCD, Helm, Ansible and Git-based workflows.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable automated application deployments and platform provisioning.
  • Develop monitoring, observability, and operational dashboards to improve platform visibility and performance.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and Kubernetes platform issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive solutions.
  • Collaborate with application teams to modernize legacy applications and adopt cloud-native architectures.
  • Support enterprise governance, security, availability, and disaster recovery requirements.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Systems Engineering

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience deploying applications on Kubernetes / OpenShift

  • Strong experience with OCP/Kubernetes administration and container orchestration.

  • Proficiency with:

  • OpenShift/Kubernetes

  • Docker

  • Helm

  • ArgoCD

  • Git

  • CI/CD pipelines

  • YAML, JSON, Bash and/or PowerShell scripting

  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.

  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and performance optimization.

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and enterprise IT governance practices

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes concepts (pods, services, routes, config maps, secrets)

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application deployment and runtime issues

  • Experience in adapting and applying rapidly changing technology to business needs.

  • Demonstrated competency in verbal communications, written communications, and interpersonal understanding.

  • Demonstrated ability to seek out and understand customers' issues and business needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle deadlines and pressure.

  • Demonstrated competency in logical and analytical thinking.
