PostGIS, Planning Broadband Operations Leadership Investments Data Science Communication Problem Solving Market Dynamics Market Potential Business Valuation Telecommunications Business Analytics Quantum GIS (QGIS) Business Strategies Market Intelligence Capital Requirements Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial ArcGIS (GIS Software) Full Stack Development Artificial Intelligence Business Transformation SQL (Programming Language) Telecommunications Networks Python (Programming Language), We are seeking a Telecom Network Planning Strategist to support broadband network expansion initiatives through GIS analysis, market intelligence, and business strategy. This role will focus on evaluating growth opportunities, analyzing customer and market data, and developing business cases that drive network investment decisions.

This is not a traditional GIS Analyst role. The ideal candidate understands broadband network planning, HFC and fiber infrastructure, subscriber growth opportunities, competitive market dynamics, and how telecommunications providers evaluate expansion opportunities.

The primary focus will be identifying where to expand networks based on market potential, competitive conditions, capital requirements, cost per passing, penetration opportunities, and overall return on investment., * Evaluate broadband and telecommunications expansion opportunities

  • Analyze customer, subscriber, competitive, demographic, and GIS datasets
  • Identify underserved and high-growth markets for HFC and Fiber expansion
  • Build business cases supporting network investment decisions
  • Develop strategic recommendations for leadership teams

  • Lead projects from concept through execution with minimal oversight

Requirements

Candidates must have experience working for a cable operator, broadband provider, fiber provider, telecommunications carrier, or network planning organization.

Examples include Comcast, Spectrum, Altice, Cox, Mediacom, Frontier, Verizon, AT&T, Lumen, CableLabs, Brightspeed, Windstream, Consolidated, or similar organizations.

Candidates with GIS experience but no telecom, cable, fiber, or broadband background will not be considered., * 3+ years of experience within the telecommunications, cable, fiber, or broadband industry

  • Experience supporting network planning, market planning, or network expansion initiatives
  • Strong understanding of HFC and Fiber network infrastructure
  • Advanced GIS analysis experience using ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS, or similar tools
  • Strong Python experience for analytics and automation
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience building business cases and investment recommendations
  • Experience presenting findings and recommendations to leadership teams
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field, * Experience working for Comcast, Spectrum, Altice, Cox, Frontier, Mediacom, CableLabs, Verizon, AT&T, or similar providers
  • Broadband market expansion experience
  • Fiber deployment planning experience
  • Network engineering background
  • Experience evaluating greenfield builds and overbuild opportunities
  • Knowledge of subscriber growth modeling and competitive analysis

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
