Job description

  • Own and deliver user stories independently-from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of backend engineers; conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to gather requirements, provide technical estimates, communicate progress, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Drive architecture and design decisions for scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Frontend, DevOps, QA, Product, and Infrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, CI/CD practices, release management, and delivery timelines.
  • Deploy applications across lower and production environments while ensuring smooth releases.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience building Microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with messaging platforms such as IBM MQ and/or Apache Kafka.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and deploying applications in cloud environments.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized application development.
  • Experience with Amazon EKS (Kubernetes), including Deployments, Services, Namespaces, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, and application deployments.
  • Good understanding of AWS Route 53 for DNS management, hosted zones, and traffic routing.
  • Experience with AWS Glue, including Glue Jobs, Crawlers, Data Catalog, and ETL workflows.
  • Understanding of AWS networking concepts, including IAM, VPC, Security Groups, Load Balancers, and application connectivity.
  • Experience creating and configuring API proxiesusing tools such as MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Apigee, Kong, or similar API gateway/proxy solutions.
  • Experience with DynamoDB and PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and application deployment practices.
  • Experience using Splunk, Dynatrace, and Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, system design, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams, mentoring developers, and independently owning technical deliverables.
  • Strong client-facing communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
