Job description

We are seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to build and integrate software for robotic platforms operating in complex, real-world environments. This role focuses on Linux-based software development, hardware integration, and system reliability across embedded computing platforms supporting defense and national security applications., * Develop and integrate software for Linux-based robotic and embedded systems

  • Integrate hardware components including sensors, cameras, radios, compute modules, and peripheral devices
  • Design and maintain interfaces between software services, hardware devices, and middleware
  • Develop communication interfaces using IPC and hardware communication protocols
  • Support hardware bring-up, software validation, and system integration
  • Debug and troubleshoot system-level software and hardware integration issues
  • Optimize software performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and robotics engineers to deliver complete systems
  • Support simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, field testing, and customer deployments
  • Contribute to software architecture and system design discussions
  • Participate in occasional travel for field testing, customer engagements, demonstrations, and periodic team meetings

Requirements

The ideal candidate has experience developing production software, integrating hardware and software systems, and debugging complex system-level issues. Experience with robotics or autonomous systems is beneficial but not required - we are primarily looking for engineers with strong systems engineering and integration experience who enjoy solving cross-disciplinary problems., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Strong programming experience in C++ and Python
  • Strong experience developing software on Linux
  • Experience integrating software with hardware systems
  • Experience supporting hardware bring-up, system integration, and platform validation
  • Experience with multi-threaded and/or multi-process applications
  • Familiarity with IPC mechanisms (e.g., sockets, shared memory, or message passing)
  • Experience working with hardware communication interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, USB, UART, SPI, I2C, or similar protocols
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across software and hardware
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams
