Insight Global is seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst to join their client's team in Richmond, VA. This role serves as a bridge between software development and systems analysis, supporting enterprise initiatives in a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will translate business needs into technical solutions, build and maintain .NET-based applications, and contribute to modernizing integration layers into service-based architectures. This position requires a strong technical expert who can independently problem-solve, handle high-pressure production environments, and support complex, interface-heavy systems. Overview of job responsibilities are below., * Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET / .NET Core
- Build and support web services and API-based integrations
- Work with Oracle and SQL Server databases to manage data structures
- Support and maintain integration layers (including modernization efforts like TIBCO to services)
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance
- Work with real-time messaging and interface-heavy systems
- Support web hosting environments such as IIS/Tomcat
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams while also working independently
- Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving to meet business needs and deadlines
Requirements
Must Have Skillsets:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with .NET / .NET Core development
- 4+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst or hybrid developer/analyst
- Strong knowledge of database systems (Oracle, SQL Server)
- Experience working in large, regulated enterprise environments
- Experience with integrations, web services, and APIs
- Exposure to real-time messaging and web hosting environments (IIS or similar)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
- Experience modernizing middleware/integration layers (e.g., TIBCO to SOA/services)
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, production environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Benefits & conditions
Hourly pay range is between $45-55/hr. Standard 40hr work week with some occasional after hours support on a rotating basis., Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
