Job description
The Test Analyst III provides entry- to mid-level testing support for OPNAV N16 MyNavy HR enterprise systems under senior tester and test lead guidance. This role supports the execution of functional and operational testing activities to ensure system quality, compliance, and readiness for release. The analyst applies strong attention to detail, structured documentation practices, and disciplined defect tracking to support Navy enterprise testing outcomes.
- Execute assigned functional, regression, integration, smoke, UAT, and UX test cases in accordance with approved test plans and schedules.
- Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios.
- Document and track defects in approved tools, ensuring accurate reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
- Maintain required test artifacts, including test results, screenshots, logs, and traceability documentation.
- Participate in test execution meetings, daily stand-ups, and release readiness activities.
- Support Senior Testers and Test Leads with test data preparation, environment validation, and execution support.
- Adhere to Navy testing standards, governance processes, and quality expectations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous process improvement to enhance testing efficiency, quality, and repeatability.
- Prepare and communicate clear status updates, testing metrics, and findings to leadership and stakeholders as required.
- Engage with product owners, functional stakeholders, and Sailors as needed to support MyNavy HR testing efforts and validate user needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience if approved).
- 0-3 years of experience in software testing, system operations, or IT support.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and work management tools (e.g., JIRA preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team under structured guidance.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
