Job description

WSP is initiating a search for an EHV Lifecycle Project Manager for our Power & Energy Program Management team to work within the New Orleans or Baton Rouge, LA office. The successful candidate may work from a mutually acceptable location within the Southern U.S. service region, including Louisiana and adjacent states. The successful candidate should have the ability to travel, as needed, to WSP offices, client offices, and utility project sites for periodic face-to-face meetings and field engagement.

This position provides high level technical project leadership, and guidance with managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of EHV Transmission and Distribution project(s) in accordance with WSP's core values, and the level of project services agreed upon in the contract by WSP and the client(s). Responsible for the overall performance of assigned project(s) that are of moderate size/complexity and/or local/regional in scope, and includes oversight for financial, technical, client satisfaction, quality, safety, and schedule. Ensures that responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle (proposal phase, project startup and planning, project execution, reporting, and project closeout) are adhered to, delivered, and audited with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable corporate standards for safety, execution, profitability, and operational purpose.

Your Impact

  • Provide PM Leadership for larger scale project planning process including initiation, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Manage project execution including project schedule, budget, and resources, which may include vendors and contractors.
  • Serve as a key project leadership point for major project related issues, escalating and coordinating as appropriate within established governance structures.
  • Responsible for project performance metrics, stakeholder reporting, and compliance with applicable regulatory, corporate, and departmental procedures throughout all phases of the project.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders across all disciplines and management levels to support project cost, schedule, and quality objectives, including coordination within client systems as required.
  • Represent WSP in client interactions and support the development of strong, professional working relationships by understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring consistent communication to drive satisfaction and retention.
  • Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.
  • Manage and provide performance guidance and leadership to assigned staff.
  • Adherence to proven processes and ability to develop new processes to standardize procedures
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct while adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Project Management or Construction Management), Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience within an A/E/C firm, utility, EPC, or power delivery consulting environment.
  • 12+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry.
  • Highly proficient understanding of project delivery process and strong background and experience in project management. Experience managing projects through a variety of delivery models (DBB, EPC, PDB).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to effectively bridge the business and project management objectives.
  • Advanced proficiency with interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively, persuasively, and tactfully with leadership, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently while providing project leadership and guidance project team members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
  • Advanced proficiency in technical writing and use of office automation and project management tools, including the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), Power BI for project reporting and performance insights, and familiarity with Power Apps or similar workflow and data-collection tools.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, subcontractors, consultants, and company-wide staff including individuals outside of a formal reporting structure.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs, schedules, and priorities, with flexibility in work hours as required to meet project-specific demandsOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements., * Master's DegreeProject Management certification, The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
