Job description
As a pivotal internal IT operational leader and technical subject matter expert, this position holds the key to managing all aspects of IT operations, spanning both cloud and on-premises infrastructures. The role of strategic oversight of Lyte Fiber servers, databases, networks, and security systems is crucial to ensuring operational excellence and alignment with business goals. The successful candidate will be instrumental in vendor management and resource allocation and will be tasked with developing and managing efficient IT processes that can scale with the organization's growth. As a technical subject matter expert, the successful candidate will oversee internal routers, various carrier-class network equipment, servers, Wi-Fi devices, and monitoring tools. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
o Oversee the implementation, operation, maintenance, and upgrade of all internal IT systems, including servers, databases, Wi-Fi, technology stack, and office security systems, with attention to cloud-based and on-premise solutions. o Guide the Lyte Fiber team through technical decisions, ensure best practices are followed, and provide IT support to team members. o Play a hands-on role in the IT department's activities, including creating and overseeing high-level KPIs to measure the department's performance and effectiveness. o Foster collaboration among team members and communicate effectively with team members, product owners, and engineering managers o Help develop and manage the IT department's budget. o Develop and maintain relationships with IT infrastructure and software vendors. o Maintain a deep understanding of current and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for implementation to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. o Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity and data protection laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Technical Tasks:
o Manage and support our organization's computers and other IT equipment, ensuring all hardware and software function seamlessly and adhere to established IT policies, protocols, and standards. This includes forecasting, ordering, setting up, and configuring computers and necessary peripheral devices such as routers, printers, etc. o Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications. o Work with local vendors to install and maintain LAN and Wi-Fi systems. o Ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems. o Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment. o Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.). o Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and a maintenance schedule. o Assist call-ins or live chat with technical difficulties. o Ensure security and maintenance of Lyte Fiber's websites.

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or CIS or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- Requires 4+ years of IT experience providing software and hardware problem-solving/troubleshooting.
- Experience with Microsoft products such as, Azure, Intune, Exchange Online, and Windows desktop/server troubleshooting is required.
- Experience with Okta SSO preferred.
- Experience with Scale Compute Hypervisor cluster solutions preferred.
- Experience with Redhat/REL operating systems.
- Working knowledge of DNS management via CloudFlare or equivalent.
- Experience with Veeam backup solutions and BC/DR planning.
- CompTIA A+, Network, Sever, and Security certification is preferred.
- Certification in Microsoft Operating Systems is required.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based and on-prem IT security protocols and systems.
- Must be willing to be on call at times during nights and weekends.

- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times
- Must be able to access all areas of facilities to determine needs
