Job description

As part of our Manufacturing team, you'll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Within our plants around the world, we're constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. That means we're continually seeking diligent, driven performers who think creatively to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles.

What you'll do...

  • Support industrial controls hardware standardization across PTME and VOME business units
  • Ensure new technologies are documented as standards before replication beyond trial phase.
  • Coordinate periodic collaboration reviews with manufacturing workgroup forum leads (Digital Integration, Digital Engineering, Machining, Casting, Assembly, and Test) on key innovation projects.
  • Coordinate and deliver periodic report outs to global OCM on key initiatives.
  • Support ATP product development including plant implementation, replication, and standardization.
  • Provide training and subject matter expertise to teams replicating standard technologies.
  • Ensure the identification and capture of lessons learned as technology is implemented as well as the impact to existing strategies and standards.
  • Support onsite technology development globally as needed.
  • Support Electrical Technical Committee via hardware reviews, shop trials, etc.
  • Support industrial controls hardware tech stack development.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters of Engineering Minimum
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with ability to break down complex topics into understandable, concrete, and actionable work plans across organizations.
  • Curiosity in developing technologies with strong aptitude to quickly learn and apply new knowledge.
  • Direct program experience with manufacturing controls & IT architectures (HW/SW).

Even better, you may have...

  • Knowledge of programming principals on Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Bosch PLC along with CNC/Motion controls systems including Ford-specific GVOSS, FAST, and OMS.
  • Knowledge of network communication methods including MQTT and JSON along with programming capability in Python, SQL, Angular, and other softwares / programming languages a plus
  • Knowledge of Ford Manufacturing IT standard footprint applications such as FIS, QLS-CM/VO, QWX, GPTS, QDAS, OBL, PDS, EP etc. in order to drive next generation technologies a plus
  • Understanding of communication network architectures and field bus protocols.

  • Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time. This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
