Job description
The Sr. SQL Database Administrator is responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise-grade databases. This role ensures high availability, security, data integrity, and performance tuning for systems that support applications, reporting, and analytics., * Design scalable database architectures and data models.
- Develop complex schemas, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Implement database best practices including version control, coding standards, and automated deployments.
- Monitor and tune performance, develop indexing strategies, and optimize queries.
- Manage backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes.
- Enforce security measures, manage permissions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with IT operations and network teams to maintain a secure, high-availability environment.
- Support data integration and ensure accurate reporting through effective ETL/ELT processes.
- Expert-level proficiency with SQL and enterprise database management systems.
- Strong background in performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience developing and maintaining robust ETL/ELT processes.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure, security standards, and compliance.
- Ability to guide junior staff and lead technical efforts.
Requirements

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; 12 years with a HS Diploma.

Demonstrated advanced proficiency with SQL and enterprise database management systems.

Have or obtain favorable Tier 3 investigation.

Have or obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security + CE) within 45 days of beginning position.

Must be a US Citizen and the ability to obtain a Public Trust.
Benefits & conditions
Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
