The Experience Center Technical Engineer will primarily support the operational needs of a high-end immersive experience center for an established professional services client. The role is 100% onsite at a client location in Washington, DC., The Experience Center Technical Engineer will primarily support the operational needs of a high-end immersive experience center for an established professional services client. The role is 100% onsite at a client location in Washington, DC. This key role is responsible for: * + o overseeing the technical operations of immersive event environments and interactive spaces, ensuring all systems are prepared, optimized, and functioning at a high level; o partnering with the client events team to collaborate on the technical and experiential strategy for sessions and events; and o serving as the primary technical escalation point, providing expert guidance on immersive technologies, content workflows, and experiential system performance throughout the event lifecycle., o Support the production design, setup, and configuration of all necessary immersive control systems, DVLED walls, lighting sync systems, and CMS driven experiences to ensure a high-quality event. o Collaborate closely with AVI-SPL Event Center Operations Coordinator and local/remote technical personnel to support the operations and optimization of immersive theaters, DVLED environments, and interactive installations. o Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with team members to ensure alignment on upcoming event scopes. Provide technical consultation on show flow, content sequencing, and experiential system design to meet client needs. o Assist with the development and documentation of best practices and technology configurations for all experiential event spaces. o Implement preventative maintenance procedures and facility plans to ensure all technologies remain operationally ready. o Serve as the initial escalation point of contact for all equipment troubleshooting, service, and maintenance needs, coordinating with client engineering teams and integrators as required. o Make sure all discrepancies are communicated and resolved to the clients' satisfaction in a timely manner. o Support the assessment and recommendation of solutions around technical and operational needs of immersive environments, interactive displays, and experiential content workflows. o Provide guidance on post-mortems of events and fully analyze what went right, what went wrong, and make recommendations for future improvements. o As needed, provide support for traditional AV devices and software elsewhere in the client facility - to include assisting with break/fix activities and performing Preventative Maintenance Visits (PMV's). o Utilize the client's ServiceNow ticketing system to track all activities.
Operational Support
o Oversee the operational approach to fulfill the technical needs for client meetings, including but not limited to: o show flow and cueing for immersive theater environments o DVLED video wall operation and maintenance o video wall windowing/presentation controllers o touch-enabled DVLED systems, including touch overlay redirection o content management systems o media synchronized architectural lighting systems
Requirements
o 3+ years of AV experience in onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events. o Required experience with Cyviz, Alleo, Appspace and Mosaic; supporting executive-level immersive sessions, workshops, and client walkthroughs with polish. o Knowledge of immersive theater environments, show flow, and content sequencing. o Experience with DVLED video wall deployment and maintenance (NanoLumens), Cyviz windowing/presentation controllers and touch-enabled DVLED systems and multisource touch redirection. o Excellent collaboration and customer relationship skills with an understanding of the importance of white-glove service. o Experience with media-synchronized architectural lighting systems (Arktura, Rockbot), LED controllers. o Knowledgeable of HDMI ingest devices and basic signal path troubleshooting. o Experience with Biamp, Q-Sys, audio routing, presets, and gain structure, Shure wireless microphone coverage, pairing, frequency management, and troubleshooting. o Experience supporting divisible rooms, source switching, and basic control system usage. o Familiarity with AV over IP concepts, including Crestron DM/NVX VLANs and control network segmentation. o Experience with performing daily AV health checks and preventative maintenance, cable termination, Cisco Room Series devices (codecs, mics, cameras), and Barco/Planar video wall systems. o Track record of being organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and working well in a team atmosphere, as well as having the capability to work well individually, is essential. o Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience, persistence, and perspective. o Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during high-pressure situations. o Ability to communicate challenging aspects to clients while maintaining a high level of confidence and leadership. o Consistent proactive preparation and timely responses to multiple channels of communication. o AV Field Service Break-Fix experience highly desired, o Experience with interactive installations, experiential content workflows, or architectural media systems. o College degree in video production, audio-visual engineering, communications, or a similar field., o Valid driver's license and safe driving record. o Some travel may be required based on requirements and location of productions and service needs, including meetings at client offices and AVI-SPL offices. o Ability to lift/carry 50lbs. o Ability to climb ladders and perform overhead work. o Must be able to stand for extended periods. o Available to work outside standard business hours and overtime when needed. All overtime hours are paid in accordance with applicable laws.
