Job description
We are seeking multiple Fiber Technicians / Data Center Technicians to support a major QTS data center construction and deployment project in Sandston, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for technicians with fiber optic, low-voltage, or data center experience who are looking for long-term career growth on a stable project. Qualified candidates will receive training and work alongside experienced teams supporting one of the region's largest data center environments., * Pull, route, and install fiber optic cabling in a data center environment
- Install and support backbone fiber infrastructure, including:
- 288-count fiber
- 144-count fiber
- Terminate and connect pre-terminated fiber into cassettes and patch panels
- Perform cable dressing, labeling, and cable management
- Assist with rack-and-stack activities and infrastructure installations
- Install low-voltage systems, including WAPs and communication equipment
- Perform fiber testing and troubleshooting using:
- OTDR equipment
- Fluke testing devices
- Follow data center standards, quality requirements, and safety procedures

Requirements
Management Low Voltage Fiber Optics Communication Detail Oriented Fiber Optic Cable Business Valuation Deployment Project Fiber Optic Testing Packaging And Labeling Full Stack Development Artificial Intelligence Business Transformation Fiber Optic Installation Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer, * Experience with fiber optic installation, low-voltage cabling, or data center infrastructure
- Familiarity with cable management, testing, and troubleshooting practices
- Ability to read and follow installation standards and project requirements
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction or data center environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship, * Previous data center experience
- Experience with rack-and-stack hardware installations
- OTDR and Fluke testing experience
- Lift certification (preferred for select positions)
- Experience working with backbone fiber deployments, * Ability to pass a drug screening
- Ability to pass a background check conducted by QTS

Benefits & conditions
- 4-day work week (40 hours)
- Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday
- Start Time: 7:00 AM
- Employees must arrive at the designated shuttle location by 6:30 AM
- Transportation provided to the work site, * Immediate need for 4-5 technicians
- Additional hiring planned the following week
- Opportunities to advance into future project teams as the program expands
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandston, VA. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
