About the Opportunity: Join one of Belgium's leading Transmission System Operators and play a key role in maintaining and supporting a mission-critical enterprise IP network infrastructure. You will work within a highly skilled Datacom team responsible for secure, high-availability networks connecting data centres, administrative sites, high-voltage substations, and international partners., * Monitor and supervise enterprise IP network infrastructure using network management platforms.
- Investigate and resolve network alarms and incidents across routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, authentication, DNS/DHCP, and load balancing technologies.
- Act as the primary contact for IP network-related requests from internal stakeholders.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and related network infrastructure.
- Perform hardware installation, replacement, staging, and configuration in data centres and office locations when required.
- Execute first-line troubleshooting and collaborate with senior network architects on complex incidents.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve network issues.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, inventories, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of network operations, maintenance processes, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
This role is ideal for an experienced IP Network Operations Engineer / NOC Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Cisco networking, firewalls, network monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support., * Bachelor's degree in Electronics, ICT, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in an IP Network Operations / NOC environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Cisco Routers & Switches
- Firewall technologies (Checkpoint and/or Palo Alto)
- Cisco ISE
- VPN technologies
- DHCP, DNS & IP Address Management (InfoBlox)
- F5 Load Balancers
- Experience supporting enterprise multi-site and data centre network environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a technical team.
- Customer-focused with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic operational environment with changing priorities.
Languages
- Fluent English
- Fluent Dutch or French (knowledge of the other language is an advantage)
Nice to Have
- Experience with IP/MPLS, DWDM, SDH/PDH, Fibre Channel, or enterprise transport networks.
- Experience working within critical infrastructure, utilities, telecom, or large enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of network security, VPNs, and high-availability network architectures.
