Job description
- End-to-End Ownership & Agile Work: You'll work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary project team and take responsibility for the successful implementation of (sub)projects-from development and testing through deployment to active operation.
- Tech Stack & Full-Stack Development: Your focus is on developing high-quality software, primarily using TypeScript/JavaScript, but also technologies such as Java/Spring, TypeScript/Node.js, and React/Vue, depending on the project.
- Code Quality, Security & Architecture: You write clean code and confidently apply best practices such as design patterns and (automated) tests. You design and document architectural decisions, always keeping security and data protection requirements in mind, ensuring scalability, and actively reducing technical debt.
- Domain Knowledge, Planning & Stakeholder Communication: You actively engage with complex business requirements and play a key role in breaking them down into iterable tasks. You define milestones for iterations and can explain technical concepts in a way that is understandable even to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Team Culture: You are an active part of our engineering culture. Through pair programming, regular code reviews, and open knowledge sharing, you contribute to the team's collective growth and take on mentoring and coaching roles for junior engineers., * Our team of over 70 engineers (of all genders) is distinguished by technical excellence, exceptional teamwork and communication skills, and a truly agile mindset.
- Join our overall team of more than 250 people, which works in an interdisciplinary and iterative manner - and is realising the vision of a digital state in collaboration with the Federal Administration.
- Work in the way that suits you best: you can organise your working hours flexibly, make use of our remote working options at any time, and choose your preferred operating system.
- The base salary for a Senior position ranges between €73,000 and €80,000 gross per year. For a Senior role that includes Tech Lead or People Lead responsibilities, the salary ranges between €80,000 and €89,000 gross per year, depending on relevant experience. When determining your individual placement within our salary bands and levels, we take into account the scope of responsibility of the role, the complexity of the tasks and the assessment of your skills from the initial interviews. You can find details of our level and salary system in our blog post "On Levels, Money and Fairness".
- Urban Sports Club & more: Every month, you'll receive a €50 voucher on top of your salary, which you can use however you like. Fitness, tech, transport or food - the choice is yours!
- In addition, we offer you an annual training budget of up to €2,000 with up to five days off - regardless of your role or level. As part of this, we also enable you to take language courses.
Requirements
- Full-stack experience: You have already developed and operated digital products and services from start to finish. You're equally comfortable working on both the backend and frontend-primarily with TypeScript/JavaScript or Java/Spring Boot, as well as the frontend frameworks React or Vue. You also have the flexibility to quickly familiarize yourself with new technologies.
- DevOps Mindset & Infrastructure Expertise: You're familiar with the DevSecOps approach, have in-depth knowledge of infrastructure and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform), and are comfortable with Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Agile & Interdisciplinary Team Culture: You prefer working in agile, cross-functional teams and value constructive discussions as well as regular feedback with Design, Product, and User Research.
- Affinity for the Tech Lead, Expert, or People Lead role: Depending on where your strengths lie, which role you've already held, or which skills you'd like to develop in the future, we'll work together to see how we can align our needs with your next career step.
- Flexibility & Motivation: You're open to switching to other projects and making your contribution where it creates the greatest value. You're driven by a strong intrinsic motivation to improve the digital aspects of administration.
- Communication & Language Skills: You are fluent in German (at least B2) and English (at least C1)-we use both languages in our day-to-day work.
