You will work with engineering teams todesign, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and resilient database systemsthat power our AI-driven platform.Your role will involvedatabase tuning, backup and recovery strategies, monitoring, and ensuring data integritywhile working with structured and unstructured data sources.This is afully onsite position, based at our office in Lisbon, where you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in person and contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.We are open to support with relocation efforts.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintainhigh-performance database systemsto support large-scale applications.Optimizedatabase queries, indexing strategies, and partitioningto enhance performance.Monitor database health, ensuringhigh availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.Manage and fine-tuneSQL and NoSQL databases(e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB).Implementdatabase security policies, encryption, and access control to protect sensitive data.Automate databasebackups, replication, and failover mechanisms.Work closely with developers to optimizequeries, schema design, and data modeling.Performcapacity planningand monitor database growth trends.Ensure compliance withdata governance, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.Stay updated with the latestdatabase technologies, trends, and best practices.RequirementsAround4+ yearsof experience as aDatabase Administrator (DBA) or similar role.Expertise inrelational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)and/orNoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, DynamoDB).Strong knowledge ofdatabase optimization, indexing, partitioning, and replication.Experience inperformance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting slow queries.Familiarity withdatabase backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.Experience withcloud database services(AWS RDS, Aurora, Google Cloud Spanner, Azure SQL).Knowledge ofscripting for automation(Python, Bash, SQL scripts).Understanding ofdata security best practices, encryption, and compliance requirements.Experience working withlarge, complex datasets and high-traffic applications.Ability to work withDevOps teamsto integrate databases into CI/CD workflows.What benefits are we offering?Apple hardwareecosystem for work.Annual BonusTop-tier Health and Life Insurancefor peace of mind.Transportation Budgetto support your commute needs.Coverflexbenefits package for meal allowances, well-being, and more.Childcaresupport.Air Conference- an opportunity to meet the team, collaborate, and grow together.Pension Fundto support your long-term financial planning.Urban Sports Clubmembership to keep you active.Meals 100% freeat the hub.Diversity & InclusionAt Air Apps, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. Requirements
