Job description

As a Web Designer & Developer, you will:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and optimise responsive websites and web-based applications.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and other relevant web development frameworks.
  • Design application architecture and database structures to ensure scalability and performance.
  • Build, maintain, and update websites and databases.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve website and application issues.
  • Develop new features while enhancing existing functionality.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure applications perform reliably across multiple browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices.
  • Develop and maintain automated UI testing using tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar frameworks.
  • Monitor website performance, traffic, and user experience, implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Apply SEO best practices during website development and content updates.
  • Ensure websites comply with modern security standards by implementing security updates and protecting client data.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support internal web applications and provide technical assistance when required.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard of quality.
  • Stay informed about emerging web technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Web Designer & Developer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with at least 3 years of commercial experience in web design and development who is passionate about building secure, high-performing, and user-friendly web applications., The successful candidate should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' professional experience in web design and web development.
  • Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and modern front-end development technologies.
  • Experience developing responsive websites compatible across multiple browsers and devices.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Good understanding of web application architecture, web security, encryption, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience working with Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar design tools).
  • Strong understanding of code optimisation and website performance improvement techniques.
  • Good knowledge of SEO principles and implementing SEO-friendly web solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work effectively under deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with cloud hosting platforms.
  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
  • Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
