Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team.   • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, or connectivity problems.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard organisational data and infrastructure against cyber threats.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python or Java to optimise network operations and maintenance tasks.
  • Configure and support operating systems such as Windows and Linux to ensure seamless integration with network components.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support APIs, SDLC processes, and DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies in accordance with organisational standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements for existing systems.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in network engineering or related IT roles.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows and Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python and Java for automation purposes.
  • Understanding of APIs, SDLC methodologies, DevOps practices, and network security protocols.
  • Knowledge of enterprise networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
