Job description
As an IBM z/OS Integration Engineer, you will design, configure, and support enterprise integration solutions that connect distributed applications with core banking services running on IBM z/OS. Leveraging integration middleware and technologies such as IBM MQ, CICS, DB2, and API-enabled services, you will deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing integration solutions that meet business and technical requirements. Working within a global engineering team, you will contribute to modern API-driven integration strategies, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvements across enterprise integration platforms.
In this Role, You will
- Design, build, and support enterprise integration solutions across IBM z/OS environments.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize integration middleware supporting business-critical services.
- Deliver secure, scalable, and resilient integration solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate with application teams, architects, and infrastructure teams to define integration designs and technical solutions.
- Implement and support API-based integrations between distributed systems and mainframe applications.
- Investigate and resolve complex production incidents and integration issues.
- Analyse application flows and troubleshoot end-to-end integration challenges.
- Produce technical documentation, solution designs, and operational support procedures.
- Support modernization initiatives and continuous improvement of enterprise integration platforms and engineering standards, * Ensure the stability, security, and performance of enterprise integration services.
- Collaborate effectively with globally distributed engineering and application teams.
- Follow enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Deliver high-quality technical documentation and support artifacts.
- Drive continuous improvements in integration engineering practices and platform capabilities.
- Support business-critical services with a strong focus on availability and resilience.
Requirements
- Strong experience developing or supporting applications on IBM z/OS.
- Good understanding of CICS, DB2 and COBOL.
- Hands-on experience with IBM MQ messaging
- Knowledge of REST APIs,enterprise integration principles, and API integration frameworks such as z/OS Connect EE.
- Understanding of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Experience implementing secure and resilient integrations between distributed and mainframe applications.
- Experience with source management and service management tools such as Endevor, Jira, and ServiceNow (SNOW).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools such as OMEGAMON, Fault Analyzer, and dump analysis.
- Knowledge of workload scheduling tools such as TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler).
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Banking or Financial Services industry experience.
- Exposure to enterprise architecture, integration governance, and API management platforms.
- Mainframe modernization and cloud integration experience would be advantageous
