Job description
This is not a traditional build or deployment role. Instead, you'll work in a controlled pre-production environment, testing and verifying infrastructure changes to ensure stability, performance, and readiness prior to release., * Test and validate infrastructure solutions in a non-production environment.
- Perform infrastructure testing across virtualisation, server, and storage platforms.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimise VMware environments.
- Validate storage connectivity, performance, and resilience.
- Execute test plans, document findings, and recommend improvements.
- Investigate issues identified during testing and work through them to resolution.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support infrastructure change and delivery.
- Produce clear technical documentation and test reports.
Requirements
- Strong background in enterprise infrastructure or data centre engineering.
- Hands-on experience with VMware technologies, including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, and vMotion.
- Experience working with enterprise storage and SAN technologies.
- Familiarity with server management platforms such as Dell iDRAC, HP iLO, or similar tools.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable working in structured testing or pre-production environments.
Desirable Experience
- Experience validating infrastructure prior to production deployment.
- Exposure to large-scale enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with highly governed or regulated organisations.
- Experience working alongside infrastructure engineering teams within complex technology estates.
