Job description

As an Infrastructure Engineer within the manufacturing industry, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and developing the company's technology systems. Your work will ensure smooth operations and support the business in delivering its services efficiently., * Maintain and optimise the organisation's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Support the implementation of new technologies to enhance system efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise downtime.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure goals with business needs.
  • Ensure all systems adhere to security and compliance standards.
  • Document processes and system configurations for future reference.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams as required.

Requirements

  • Strong Linux administration (Ubuntu) and Windows Server.

  • Production virtualisation experience (Proxmox, VMware or Hyper-V).

  • Software-defined/clustered storage (Ceph, vSAN or comparable).

  • SQL Server administration including Always On AG/Windows failover clustering.

  • Enterprise networking (Cisco or equivalent): VLANs, vPC/LACP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.

  • Scripting and automation (Bash and PowerShell).

  • Monitoring/observability tooling and structured incident response.

  • Typically 3-5 years in a hands-on infrastructure or 3rd-line role. Desirable

  • Ceph at production scale, Docker/containers, NVIDIA GPU/CUDA exposure.

  • Genuine interest in AI infrastructure and on-prem inference.
