Lead Java Engineer

Rate: Up to £671.25 per day
Location: Telford (2 days per week onsite)

Are you an experienced Java Engineer looking to lead the technical delivery of large-scale, enterprise applications?
We're looking for a Lead Java Engineer to join a major modernisation programme, helping to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native services within a collaborative Agile environment. This is an opportunity to take ownership of technical solutions from design through to delivery while working alongside architects, engineering leads and cross-functional development teams.
You'll play a key role in shaping engineering standards, solving complex technical challenges and mentoring engineers as part of a growing technology programme.
The Role
As a Lead Java Engineer, you'll be responsible for producing low-level designs, translating architectural vision into technical solutions and leading the development of high-quality services throughout the software development life cycle.
Working closely with architects, quality engineers and delivery teams, you'll drive engineering best practices, promote the use of shared components and provide technical leadership across multiple workstreams. You'll enjoy solving complex problems, guiding engineering decisions and helping teams deliver scalable, maintainable software using modern development practices.
