SUMMARY: The Software Engineer will build and maintain the internal systems, data pipelines, and tools that power our clinical, quality, pharmacy, and risk adjustment operations. Working closely with data analysts, clinical staff, and operational teams, this role turns complex healthcare workflows into reliable software., * Design, build, and maintain web applications, internal tools, and backend services supporting Medicare Advantage clinical and operational workflows
- Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and data integrations across claims, pharmacy, enrollment, and risk adjustment systems
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines and automated workflows for analytics, reporting, and CMS regulatory submissions
- Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas in SQL Server environments
- Collaborate with data analysts, clinical staff, and business teams to translate operational needs into working software
- Build and integrate reporting interfaces and dashboards (Power BI, SSRS) to deliver insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Document systems, APIs, and data flows; participate in code reviews and sprint planning
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery - prototyping, debugging, documentation, and code review

Requirements

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field - or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python or JavaScript / TypeScript (strong in at least one; familiar with the other).
- Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries in a relational database environment.
- Version control with Git (branching, pull requests, code reviews).
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) as part of daily workflow.
- Experience working in a healthcare, managed care, or Medicare Advantage environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data security practices.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment using project tracking tools such as Jira.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and DevOps basics (CI/CD)., LANGUAGE: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups and customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form., While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift or exert force up to 10 pounds.
