SENIOR DATA SCIENIST | Python | Scala | AWS | NLP / ML

Kforce is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support a mission-critical federal program focused on advanced analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision-making in support of national security operations.

This position will leverage large and complex datasets to develop predictive models, perform advanced statistical analysis, and build machine learning solutions that provide actionable intelligence to mission stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses deep experience with Python, Java, Scala, AWS, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, and statistical model evaluation techniques.

You will work alongside data engineers, software developers, cloud architects, and mission teams to deploy scalable AI/ML solutions that directly support critical federal initiatives., Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions supporting mission requirements Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and operational insights Develop predictive models and advanced analytics solutions using Python, Java, and Scala Build and optimize Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities for text analytics, entity extraction, classification, and language modeling Evaluate machine learning model performance using advanced statistical techniques and validation methodologies Develop, test, and deploy ML models in AWS cloud environments Collaborate with Data Engineers to support scalable data pipelines and processing frameworks Utilize Git and GitLab for source control, version management, and CI/CD workflows Automate model deployment and lifecycle management using modern DevOps and MLOps practices Conduct feature engineering, model tuning, and performance optimization activities Develop analytical visualizations and reports supporting technical and non-technical stakeholders Document methodologies, algorithms, and model performance metrics Support Agile development efforts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Present technical findings and recommendations to program leadership and mission partners

Active Top Secret Clearance Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field 7+ years of experience supporting Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Advanced Analytics initiatives Strong proficiency with Python Experience developing analytics or ML solutions using Java and/or Scala Experience working within AWS cloud environments Strong experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) methodologies and tools Experience applying statistical techniques to evaluate, validate, and optimize machine learning models Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms Experience utilizing Git and GitLab for source control and CI/CD processes Experience deploying and supporting ML solutions in production environments Strong understanding of data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Experience working within Agile development environments, Master's or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, or related discipline Experience supporting FBI, DoD, Intelligence Community, or national security programs Experience with AWS AI/ML services Experience building MLOps pipelines and automated model deployment solutions Experience working with large-scale distributed data platforms Experience with deep learning frameworks and advanced NLP architectures Experience developing cloud-native analytics solutions AWS, Machine Learning, or Data Science certifications

Work Environment Fully onsite at Redstone Arsenal - Huntsville, Alabama Monday-Friday during standard core business hours Secure facility requiring adherence to federal security requirements Collaborative environment working with data scientists, cloud engineers, and software developers Fast-paced mission-focused program supporting national security objectives

We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
