Job description

  • We're partnering with a fast-growing, cloud-native technology organization building next-generation enterprise service mesh platforms and we are looking for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of cloud-native architecture, networking, and large-scale distributed systems (This is more than a Kubernetes admin role - it's hands-on platform product engineering).

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build modern service mesh platforms.
  • Work across management plane and data plane architectures.
  • Architect secure, highly-available distributed systems.
  • Build and scale multi-cluster, multi-cloud environments.
  • Contribute to or engage with the Istio / Envoy open-source ecosystem.
  • Building and enhancing enterprise-grade service mesh capabilities.
  • Developing features across control plane & data plane.
  • Improving security, observability, and networking performance.
  • Supporting complex enterprise Kubernetes deployments.
  • Collaborating with customers and engineering teams on advanced technical challenges.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes.
  • Strong programming background (Go preferred; C++ or systems-level exposure a plus).
  • Strong experience with Istio, Envoy, and service mesh internals.
  • Networking expertise (TCP/IP, mTLS, service-to-service communication).
  • Experience across cloud environments (AWS / GCP / Azure).

Experience (Desired):

  • Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts (consistency, reliability, scalability).

Education:

  • Bachelor's or degree in or a related field or equivalent work experience.
