Job description
We are seeking a Senior .NET Developer / AI Developer to support a government client's Technology Enterprise Business Solutions (TEBS) team. This role will focus on designing, building, modernizing, and supporting modern applications in Microsoft Azure while helping implement AI-powered solutions across legacy and cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with .NET Core/.NET 8, C#, Azure cloud services, and AI technologies., * Design, develop, modernize, and support applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET 8, and Microsoft Azure.
- Modernize legacy .NET Framework and Web Forms applications into modern cloud-native solutions.
- Develop and integrate Azure services including App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, and Azure SQL.
- Build AI-powered solutions utilizing Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, AI agents, prompt engineering, and RAG architectures.
- Develop secure APIs and implement authentication using Microsoft Entra ID/B2C.
- Support CI/CD automation using GitHub or Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams, and leadership to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Conduct solution assessments, feasibility studies, and gap analyses.
- Participate in knowledge transfer activities with internal staff.
Requirements
- Expert-level experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, and cloud-native application development.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services and microservices architecture.
- Experience with API security and Microsoft Entra ID/B2C authentication.
- Proven experience modernizing legacy .NET applications to .NET 8 or cloud-native platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, AI agents, RAG, and prompt engineering.
- Proficiency with GitHub or Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies.
- Understanding of SQL, Cosmos DB, and modern UI frameworks such as Blazor, React, or Angular.
- Experience evaluating technical solutions and providing recommendations based on business requirements.

Work Environment
This position requires a hybrid schedule with two days onsite in Rockville, MD and three days remote. Remote work must be performed within the DMV area. This is a 35-hour work week. A background investigation may be required.
Education & Certifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant Microsoft Azure, AI, cloud, or software development certifications are desirable. Candidates must be able to provide proof of certifications claimed on their resume.
