Job description
- Lead and manage engineering and development projects, overseeing planning, execution, and successful completion.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets, while monitoring progress and adjusting as necessary. - Communicate project progress, challenges, and strategic direction to stakeholders at all levels, fostering transparency, and ensuring alignment and support. - Conduct risk analysis to identify potential risks and challenges within projects and develop effective mitigation strategies. - Ensure engineering and development activities comply with internal processes and industry standards and regulations, including the proper documentation and protection of intellectual property. - Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate project success and drive continuous improvement - Develop US Government contract deliverables, including status reports and program reviews, system design documents and cybersecurity mitigation plans - Closely collaborate with engineering and service teams to troubleshoot issues and report status during test & evaluation - Manage proposal efforts for engineering and development projects, including developing cost estimates and proposal documentation

Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in our Columbia, MD location to manage US Government Security Scanner engineering and development projects. Top applicants will possess strong project management and proposal experience in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments, a demonstrated ability to communicate and inspire across teams and functions and the ability to work on multiple varied projects at once while making progress in all., + B.S. in engineering or relevant technical degree.
- 5+ year's experience in Project Management.
- Experience with networking/cybersecurity projects preferred.
- Ability to create well organized clear presentation of information in Office (Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project for reporting and program planning.
- Detail oriented, analytical, and highly organized.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. - Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Some travel required, <10%
- in order to be considered, candidates must reside in the US and have US citizenship, and be capable of obtaining a US Government Clearance
Benefits & conditions
The total compensation for this position is $112-$150K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
